Review of Meetings and Ways of Working Survey

Colchester Borough Council wants to improve its Committee meetings and to get more people involved in them.
Please give us your thoughts on our current procedures and things that you feel could be improved.

We are holding three informal public meeting sessions. Everyone is welcome to come along, there's no need to pre-register beforehand and you can stay for as little or as long as you want. Both councillors and officers will be on hand to answer questions and listen to your views. Please find the details below:

Saturday, 21st January - 10:00 am - 1:00 pm - Grand Jury Room, Colchester Town Hall, High Street, Colchester
Monday, 13th February - 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm - Tiptree Tesco, Tiptree
Monday, 13th February - 6:00 pm-7:00 pm  - Small Hall, Tiptree Community Centre

Alternatively, if you are unable to attend the sessions above, there is an online survey open until the 17th of February which can be found here. The survey should take between 5 and 10 minutes to complete.

Colchester Borough Council's Committees

Welcome to Colchester Borough Council's Committee pages.

Find out who sits on specific committees (or panels) when the next meeting is to be held, what's on the agenda and what conclusions were reached at previous meetings on these pages. Click on a meeting name to find information about meeting dates and memberships.

The Cabinet and Portfolio Holders are responsible for most day-to-day decisions while the Panels (still often referred to as "Committees") scrutinise those decisions and review policy.  There are also a number of Committees which deal with regulatory matters.

Historic Committee documents from the 2013-14 municipal years and earlier can be accessed from the Committees archive, which can be accessed by placing your cursor over the Committees tab at the top of the page and then clicking on the Committees Archive link.
