Members are asked endorse the suggested approach to the creation of a new pedestrian access from Priory Street as set out in the report, namely that of Option 2, which provides an acceptable access solution with an equitable balance struck between a fully compliant ramped access (Option 3) and the contingent harm associated with widening the opening through the Town Wall (former C19 theatre wall not Roman in origin). Option 2 requires the creation of a new opening of less than half that required by Option 3 (1900mm versus 4474mm).
